[CR]College Park Bicycles

College Park Bicycles - That's a really cool bike shop. It's a CR Listmembers candy store.

Before CR existed, in the early 90s, I arranged to visit Larry Black at College Park Bicycles. Because of my Army work schedule, I was unable to get there before about 7 PM. No problem. Larry met me, spent over an hour showing me not only the hundreds of frames hanging from the ceiling, but pictures he had of hundreds of more frames that he had in his Mt Airy shop and "barn". He took me to the back room and showed me the "new" Waterford 1200s that they were getting and showed me some of the finer points of workmanship that this neophyte would otherwise have missed. We discovered we were the same age and rode the same size bikes on that visit. I wish I wore the same size clothing!! Larry is a class act--always supports the community and the hobby. It was a shame that his shop in College Park was ransacked in a riot after Univ of Maryland won the NCAA men's basketball tournament a couple of years ago. My hat's off to you Larry.
