This is only about spending money and being able to recoup your costs when reselling. Cold and calculating... not my cup of tea.

A ground up restoration, paint, chrome and decals, is very costly. And we are not talking about what bikes I would expend the large coin to restore, because I don't restore bikes with an eye towards reselling... I only buy bikes I want to keep.

The list is determined by the market (mainly eBay). Bikes that get lots of action on eBay like Herse, Singer, 70s and earlier Masi, Colnago, Cinelli, things like Gillott, Hetchins, Ephgrave, Hurlow for example are worth a restoration if needed.

More common bikes, Peugeot, Raleigh, Motobecane for example, that were sold in large numbers, there is a greater chance that you are going to find a well cared for example, so restoring one in poor condition would not make sense.
