The cambio Corsa and Paris Roubaix shifters don't have a set screw or stop or anything to limit the travel of the shifter towards the spokes. It's okay for the shifter, since it is shaped and positioned in such a way that it just bounces against the spokes, but you still need a spoke disk to keep the chain from shifting off the largest cog and into the gap between the freewheel and the spokes.
