I'm not aware of any problem with Weyless seatposts. What was the issue? Odd, because American Classic still sells what I thought was an identical design, and it is widely distributed, including Nashbar.

As to Fiamme Ergal, they were extremely popular in the day, I don't know that they were defective, just too light for some applications.

Seriously ... I hear here on the list (here here I say) that the blue label AVA tubbys from the early 1970s are prone to breakage. Also, the first generation Super Record bottom bracket with the convenient to remove breakaway spindle, to go with above cranks!

Dear CR Listmembers,

I am parting up a BIKE OF DEATH. Could you please help me, with component suggestions, for the mostly deadly bicycle parts of the 1960's - 1980's ?? No idea too bad will be rejected. Here is where I've gotten so far :

Fork: Lambert Stem: AVA drilled Seatpost: Weyless Brakes: Dia Compe w/Lever Extensions Rims: Fiamme Ergal

How should I finish up this BIKE OF DEATH ?? Suggestions ??
