The Girardengo photo album I was hosted is long gone, part of the "Club Photo" or "photopoint" fiasco of a few years ago. I lost dozens of pics of Girardengo and Ives (another Girardengo brand), culled from eBay and elsewhere.
Here is a temporary album with a few pics of the early 60s(?) Girardengo I bought from Ted Williams a few years back.
The factories in Allesandria closed around 1995, and the buildings were sold around 2000. There was some hope that bike manufacture would resume, but I haven't heard anything else in over two years.
Girardengo quality was mediocre most of the time. Most of us have heard stories of bikes arriving from Allesandria with the decals applied upside-down. The bike i have seems reasonably straight and true, and handles fine (despite being at the upper limit of my "range of ridable framesizes"). The decals remain an enigma - anyone out there have a bike with the original decals? Please send pictures - pleasepleaseplease!
Be sure to check the archives for other Gira and Ives info.

Hello- I am a newbie here and I am looking for information and/or photos of Girardengo bikes. I have been looking for a classic Italian road frame with fancy lugs and managed to find one on ebay (of all places!). I am looking to restore this frame, but can't find any photos of existing bikes to decide what to do with it! Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated, and photos doubly so!
Thanks in advance! Amanda Walker Seale, AL
Frame is purportedly a "Alissandria" (though there is nothing on the frame but badges)....for all I know, this may be a frame by someone else with the Girardengo badges on it! It is all chrome with remnants of red paint here and there, mainly on the lugs...
