I surprised my girlfriend with a trek mixte bike today. It's a 1984 420. I know it's a low end trek but the paint was in great shape, and she will definately appreciate the tripple crank. It appears to be all original except for the derailleurs and shifters which were apparently changed to shimano from simplex. While I was cleaning it up, I realized I've never seen a trek mixte before up close. I know they offered these for a few years, but how many of these were made? i know treks don't have tremendous value, although personally I believe they are fantastic machines, and my question doesn't even really pertain to monetary value but are the mixtes a bit on the rare side?
