This is driving me crazy: I recall reading about a British framebuilder in the late 70's whose frames were becoming popular here. This builder's design featured stiff geometries, beefy stays and a unique semi-fastback seat stay arrangement. The lugwork was very simple and the builder's name was similarly non-fancy--just plain block letters. He wasn't very old and I seem to recall American connection--perhaps he moved to the U.S. and resumed building here, but I don't really recognize his name on the classicrendezvous site. What in the world is the name of this framebuilder I'm trying to remember?
