A little late ........................ We had a short notice ride this past SUNDAY and I was happy to see a nice turnout(not the 19 riders of a week ago but still respectable) by request the MACHINERY: 1980 RALEIGH TEAM 753 (anyone have a 54CM for sale or trade?) (DAVID JENSEN) 1986 CINELLI SC (GREG DAVIS) 1981 COLNAGO(TED JACKSON) 1976 ZEUS SUPREME (1 box of JUNIOR MINTS to first correct guess as to the rider) 1981 DAVE MOULTON(TERRY McCLINTOCK) 1960s BILL HURLOW (BOB FREITAS) 1969 POCCIANTI STELLA (STEVAN THOMAS) 1971 GITANE TDF (GRON PERRY) 1972 MONDIA SPECIAL(FELIX CHIU) 1964 SCHWINN PARAMOUNT(MARC ST MARTIN) 1970 MASI GC(PETER JOHNSON) 1991 PETER JOHNSON (JAN JOHNSON)
We met up at the LOS ALTOS CC parking lot for the usual "SHOW and TELL" then pushed off for a nice ride thru various LOS ALTOS HILLs neighborhoods,a jog thru the ROCHE/SAP/AGILENT industrial park, out thru the STANFORD CAMPUS (those students are looking pretty young),the long grunt up SAND HILL Road, past WHISKEY HILL rd(nice name) up MOUNTAIN HOME to ROBERTS STORE in WOODSIDE,then EAST on WOODSIDE rd to the PLANTATION CAFE for a leisurely lunch where we pretty much touched on every subject BUT politics. Home leg took us back on JUNIPERO SERRA/FOOTHILL EXPRESSWAY to our start point. Its always fun to do these rides as I come away with a little more bike knowledge and a greater appreciation of my fellow riders. SEPTEMBER brings the SFGP (T MOBILE BLAH BLAH BLAH) and MARC mentioned a LIVERMORE ride the week after. So this month should be a busy one...........and of course OCT brings the VR in sunny PASADENA(CAMBIO CORSA RIDE anyone?)
