So Richie, what do you think should be done with production frames, even fairly expensive ones, which are often not faced before painting? Sounds like your methods are for correcting slight imperfections on custom frames rather than huge HS gaps on production frames.

i would never face a head tube or bb or use a facer/cutter on a frame after it's painted. i use either an exacto blade or light/worn sandpaper back by a flat file.
