Hi Jay,
This is a Simplex "Prestige/Criterium 537" derailleur according to page 198 of "The Dancing Chain" by Frank Berto, Ron Shepherd, and Raymond Henry (c. 2000).
According to the text in the book, these derailleurs were first manufactured in 1966. I think they were very short lived and replaced with the "Criterium" that we all know (black script on silver back-ground.)
I have had a few of these "blue-band" 537's, and had hoped to win this one. Oh well.
Another note on this derailleur: the internal fittings for the pivot points (spring covers, springs, do not seem to fit the other Prestige models.)
Can anyone verify if this was the correct rear derailleur that came standard on a 1966 PX-10?
