Hello Everyone,

I read with interest this thread and its evolution. Parting out bikes for me is always sad, sometimes regrettable and sometimes just bad karma.

I received last week, my KOF frame built by a fellow in Minneapolis whose name sounds like the loveable bear that is a symbol of Australia.

My dilemma was that I don't have the money to equip this frame with all the latest OT stuff. Yet I am dying to ride it as this is my first made to fit frame. So..., I went through my horded parts, passed up all the Weinman, Mafac, Simplex and Zeus parts drawers and ended up with mixes of Campagnolo SR and NR parts. As soon as I fitted the DT levers I knew this felt right. Then I hung a NR RD. By the time I got done with SR cranks and Record short reach brake calipers I was sweating and trembling. Next was the 27.4 mm NR seat post. Then I looked at a Brooks Pro..nah, Brooks Swallow (honey) close but nah....back to the horded parts from dead bikes pile and found something that looked and felt familiar. As soon as I mounted this onto the seat post I recognized it as a Cinelli Unicanitor #3 light colored saddle. Next was Cinelli mod 65 on a 1A stem and it was Deja Vu all over ..again. I really believe this frame was meant for all this stuff ...well I did discussed it with this Master Cabala frame builder and that was what both our hearts were with. This was a wonderful experience and I wished I had done it sooner. Sorry no ride report as bike is not finished.

Now to reread all the recent threads regarding Retro cool and revisit them. How and where did I drill holes in perfectly good Cinelli bars so that I could internally route the cables used with the new aero levers?

As in Nature, some things must die to give life to others. I just hope this will atone for some past sins.

Ed Estoye Glad in Middletown, OH to get my New Years Resolution to make one post to CR list out of the way early.
