I think they used Campy. As long as the tooth difference between the smallest and the middle is a few teeth greater then the middle and the outer the racing front derailleur should work fine. As long as you do not get too small in the front and rear. Make sure the chain does not rub on the little spacer between the cages. As far as the performance goes go with a Simplex Super LJ for better front derailleur shifting. That is my two cents Steven

Hi all: I read in the Archives that certain versions of the Paramount came equipped with 52-??-36 Campy triples. Can anyone tell me what front derailleur was originally used with that setup?

I ask because I'm looking for something appropriate to the Hetchins I'm building up with a Campy 52-46-36 triple crankset. This bike will be a "rider," so superior performance wins over period correctness.

Thanks in advance for any info!
