Peter, I had heard it was also popular to replace the drop-parallelogram Rally long cage with a Super Record short cage for improved shifting across a smaller block. Somewhere out in the cyber backwaters there is an exchange between Dale Brown and someone named Louis discussing this "hot rod" change. I recently made this change to one of those early Rallys, but it is still sitting on the workbench, and has not been field-tested.
