Dude I can send you more photos. Yes there were all sorts of sorry Super Record things that had that black/purplish coating on them. I have drawers of that stuff. But the point you and several other folks are missing is that this is a genuine 1958 chainset. I simply stated that this set is black and asked the list whether or not it was anodized or painted. No one seems to know. An anodized set would have that dull aluminum look like all of the cranks made in the 70's and 80's.
