Mr. Patzkowsky asked, Mr. Drinkwater replied and I will add a tidbit to the thread: The correct Chater Lea specification, gram weight and cost is this: BMRCS Chater Lea - Steel 1.450 x 26 tpi - RH & LH 36 44.00

On a side note to Mr. Cheap, The Phil Wood BB will last forever, The Sheemano BB will end up in the trash after a season or two. I have better things to do than spend my time and money replacing cheap parts on my ride.

Paul Patzkowsky asked:
>I've seen a listing for Phil Wood BB cups that seems to indicate that
>they have a size which will work in bottom brackets made for Chatter
>Lea bottom brackets. Can anyone confirm this? I need some for a Claude Butler frame.

It's listed in their catalog http://www.philwood.com/webcatolog/pg14.htm along with rings for Raleigh and Swiss threads besides the standard British, Italian & French threads. One tip, you can use Shimano UN-51/52/71/72 bottom brackets with Phil cups.
