Sorry Greg, I should have added that the springs provide tension on the screws to help keep them from moving once in the correct position.

My puzzlement is over the springs that encase the droput adjuster screws. = What purpose do they serve?
   Once the wheelhub is locked in, I can't see the "spring" doing anything us= eful.
