I saw you guys going North, as I was going South on the coast. I gave you a salute. I ride a '80s Battaglin, and if I where to try to get Batt guys together it would be a squad of one, me. For a fourth tier bike of the 80s, it's actually worked it's way up to first tier in my club. The guys love the fact that it's so clean and shiny after all these years, and it's all original. Well I do have something in common with you Masi guys, I have a decal of Dave Stoller on the back of the seat tube.

Moral is, doesn't matter how crappy it was, if it's cherry now, it's cool.

"The Masi ride yesterday was, as always, a very great pleasure..."

Many thanks, Charles for a wonderful read. Of course, you California guys are just rubbing salt (road salt more likely) into the winter wounds of we snowbound east coasters. But you're owed that. Once.

I have yet to be bitten by the Masi bug. I wanted Dave Stollar to ride a Raleigh Pro and imitate a Dutch rider not an Italian. Still do. But it's nice to see such enthusiasm on the CR List.. not the techo geek stuff, but the sheer delight in getting into a certain marque to this extent and riding it. And sharing with it others. Especially those of us reduced to Simichroming alloy bits instead of riding. It's gotta warm up around here or I am going to be tempted to buy another one...

Thanks again for the pix and the write-up.
