Subject: [CR]For Sale NOS Bates and NOS Jack Taylor

Greetings,

In an effort to raise money to conduct interviews with the three Taylor brothers in England for a book project, I am offering two frames for sale to the CR List.

First, we have what I believe to be an early 70's Bates. This frame was purchased from Martin Coopland a few years ago. It is virtually NOS, but shows signs that it has indeed been built up into a complete machine at some point. The original paint is in very good condition with very small imperfections visible upon close inspection. It is a beautiful flambouyant forest green color. Other details include; 25" frame size (C-T), Diadrant forks, Reynolds 531 butted tubes, original Bates mudguard fixing bolts, cantilever bosses, pump pegs, headset included. Price will be $600 plus actual shipping charges. I will have photos available online this weekend.

Second, is a Jack Taylor "Tour of Britain." This frame was purchased from Norman Taylor a few years back when he was clearing out the last remaining frames. It has never been built into a machine and is in excellent condition. It is virtually NOS except for an area on the head tube where a bit of paint has been rubbed off by a rack during shipping. This does not disturb the headbadge and would be easy to touch up. It is a very nice metallic green, a bit lighter than the Bates. Other details include; 25" frame size, Reynolds 531 butted tubes, Nervex lugs, headset and bottom bracket fixed. The price will be $500 plus actual shipping. Photos online this weekend.

Please pm me as they will be offered on a first come first served basis. Thank you for supporting this project.
