Subject: [CR]Convert Raleigh International to 650B?

My apologies to all if this post annoys anyone. I searched the archives and couldn't find any info.

Will the geometry of my Raleigh International cause problems if I convert it to 650B? Would BB height be the only concern? Anybody try this yet?

I've been off the list for awhile now (few years), so I missed all the fun 650B discussion. I've been dying to try this conversion for years, but parts were a problem, so I wrote off the project completely. Now that Rivendell has dangled the carrot in front of me (and I'm trying to ride more), I'm willing to give it a try. My International is currently set-up with 27" wheels and some big, fat beefy 27" Vittoria Phoenix tires. The set-up is a bit heavy wheel-wise and tall for me as well. With my small frame size, 700C wheels are a stretch, so 27" wheels just makes it worse. Thus, I always figured this bike might be a good speciman for the conversion, plus it's already set-up for centerpulls. Don't really want to convert to 700C since I've got plenty of those already. ;)

I'm hoping that if the brake bridge/axle measurements work out, then I can get some 650B wheels and Dia-Compe 750 centerpulls and be ready to go so long as the geometry works out. Any would be great.
