What you describe has happened to me on several occasions. Most banks would tell you the float is a thing of the past but Paypal proves otherwise. They have everyone by the tender parts and they know it, so a few more dollars is just what the doctor ordered. I got a Paypal debit card, so I can withdraw money without waiting or paying fees for checks.
