The reference I have says these were touring bikes and started in 1940. The ebay bike must have been converted and originally would have had fenders, chainguard, touring bars, spring seat and kick back hub or calipers -could be a period conversion though. The paint looks original with the pinstriping. The pictures I have also show a forward openning rear dropout.
