Last call for the SoCal Colnago ride. Weather should be partly cloudy on Sunday with some sun. We leave from the north end of the Dana Point Marina at 10am this Sunday, the 13th. Ride a Colnago, any vintage, if you have one, if not, ride something italian, if not, ride whatever you have. I know there are more SoCal denizens on this list than have posted me. Come on out! This is a social-pace, no-drop ride with some moderate climbing. About 28 miles. Continental breakfast before we leave, late lunch in Dana Point after. We'll check out some scenic bike paths, Marcel Calborn's Bicisport in Laguna Hills, and cruise through Laguna Beach on our way back to Dana Point.

If you need directions, e-mail me.

Charles Andrews SoCal

Concerning Carlos Kleiber one of the greatest of all post-war conductors:

The glamour often associated with a conductor's life held no appeal for him; he preferred to stay at home in Munich. He once told Leonard Bernstein: "I want to grow in a garden. I want to have the sun. I want to eat and drink and sleep and make love and that's it."
