In the course of a restoration, I am wondering what do people use for a source of gold chains for traditional 5/6 speed-spaced bikes ?? I realize that EBay frequently has regina oro chains at $30 - $40 and currently has some gold Sachs chains, but I was wondering who is anyone is making new chains 1/2 x 3/32 for 5,6 or 6,7,8 speed bikes??
The only gold / brass chains I know of that that are still made are 9-speed models from Wippermann and KMC. Will these jam between the rings of nuovo record (or sugino maxy) crankset ??
