Today, at Dale's urging, I set off to the city to observe this one for the first time. Attendance was over 1000 and it was a wait in the cold rain just to get in the door; however, the amount of on-topic lightweights were extremely few. For example, I never saw any NR parts. None! Oh, there was an old Motobecane mixte that I could have envisioned my daughter taking to school, but.... So, Dale, I am sorry to say that this one can probably be written off from the CR group's perspective.

I will say that there was one guy there who had two stunningly beautiful KOF, very well-preserved and detailed matched pair-- one audax with fenders, and one race/performance, both lugged Serottas in that burgundy-brown combination paint with the gold-outlined black logos (that Santana also used around 15-20 years ago if that helps). Both were Campy 8-9 equipped. 58mm. The audax model had rear rack braze-ons and the rack. A beautifully done fender installation considering double pivot brakes and all! They are for sale and I don't think he had much interest this afternoon. If this has peaked anyone's interest and you want to know more, I did take a cameraphone pic and I have his email address as well.

Ken Wehrenberg, back in the wine country of Hermann, MO-- trying to do eye and brain rehabilitative therapy after gazing at so many caulked-together Al uglies. Boy, it makes me thankful for this list and all you guys. Our on-topic items are truly treasures for mind and body and we would do well to remember that when it gets a bit rancorous in Dale's living room.
