It sounds like these are not mounted correctly, especially since both do the same thing. "Defective Veloflex" is generally considered to be an oxymoron. ;-)

If you don't stretch the tire evenly around the rim, you'll have loose areas and tight areas. Also, you must use your glue properly. If tires aren't stretched before mounting, it's particularly difficult to seat them correctly. Stretching should be done on a clean rim with the tire inflated.
