Hi Suzy and list I am a relative newcomer to wheel-building having only been doing it for about the last 6 years I am no more informed about Greythumb but am just as intrigued by the idea of boiled linseed oil.Do you let it cool before use or is it used hot.On the subject of tieing and soldering,I seem to recall hearing that one well known shop here in Melbourne used fuse wire and normal lead/tin solder to tie their wheels. One thing tieing and soldering does do is contribute to the noise when you break a spoke. You will certainly never be able to say you didn't hear it go, Geoff Duke Melbourne Australia
