Hello all, Interesting posts recently discussing hub flange and spoke count on CA Masi's which leads to this post,,,, Just received an eBay purchase from California that was packaged in an old yellow Campagnolo "MOZZI RECORD STRADA FLANGE PICCOLE" hub box. To my horror, the seller simply wrapped the box in the opaque taupe-colored packing tape. Clearly visible on the base was the following penned detail inscription:

Mario Confente 2001 Via Taormina Monterey 93940 CA 408-649-4045

1034 QUICK RELEASE ROAD HUBS

Well after some careful and tedious removal of the tape with a hot hair dryer, most of the box has been saved, but left with a tacky sticky surface. The tape pulled off the first numeral of the Confente address, most the the letters in Monterey, and the "A" from "CA".

Photos of the box (along with the removed tape remnants) can be viewed at the following address:

I assume that these were used by Mr. Confente on his Masi built or own signature frames???

All in all, an interesting bit of cycling history contained on a salvaged box! Don't know what I will do with it, since I don't own a Confente and probably never will.

As for the use on tape,,,,,"the Horror,,the Horror".
