Subject: [CR]Confente's Box

A minor addition to this thread: One of the phone numbers on the box is George Farrier's from back in the days when Monterey was area code 408.

I'm sure others on this list are much more knowledgeable about Confente's relationship with Farrier (e.g. Brian B, Jim C,...). I met Mr. Farrier a couple of times before he passed away. By then he had mellowed with age. He was gracious enough to show me his work shop, tools, etc... where Confente worked at his house. He also showed me a couple of his Confente bikes including a beautiful white one he called the "Super Bike" with a very early "Confente" version of a modified Campagnolo braze on front derailleur. He had some very touching photos of Boyer, Confente, Merckx, and van Impe. Farrier talked of Confente only in the most positive, flattering terms and thought Confente was a God.
