I'll second that, Peter... Dale is one of the hardest working people I know and anyone who has attended Cirque would probably say the same. As for the CR site, I can't imaging what an underaking that must be... as more bikes are collected and restored and as the CR list gets larger and it's members want to donate material, the number of bikes that could be deemed "CR worthy" is probably growing exponentially (until a point at some time in the future when every vintage bike on the planet has been collected and fully restored).

Two years ago I started collecting photos for an off-line HTML-based bike collection similar to Dale's called "Bikes of Steel". It soon got to be a part time job and threatened to take up every moment of my spare time. It has now stabilized at about 2 gigs of material and I only add to it sporadically, and I've instead devoted my time to just the Masi timeline portion which takes up about 300 megs. Upkeep on that section alone, collecting photos, editing HTML, exchanging emails with Masi owners and trying to keep everything organized typically takes from one to two hours a day.

Frankly, I just don't see how Dale runs the shop, moderates the list, takes care of BOTH the Cycles d' Oro web site and the CR site, then beats himself to death every year to put on a festival that several hundred of us enjoy and talk about for months afterwards.

I offered to take care of the Masi registry portion of the CR site... it's something I thought I would enjoy and it seemed like the least I could do considering all the enjoyment I've gotten from both CR and the list. Maybe Kim and others who have a favorite marque could step up and offer their expertise in some way... for example, Dale has many links to other sites (rather than duplicating the same material on CR). So if you really like Malvern Star or Jack Taylor or Herse or some other marque that you feel is not adequately represented on Dale's site, put up a web page of your own and let Dale link to it.
