Subject: [CR]Boxlining on postwar RRA's?

I was wondering if anyone on the list, especially in the UK, have ever seen a postwar ('47-54) RRA with factory boxlining. The catalogs during this period indicate that "lining" was available. The general concensus that I have obtained up to this point was that all the RRAs came from the factory with the fancy paneled transfers (which would not work well with boxlining) and that factory repaints were done with the simple prewar style transfers, again without lining. I REALLY want to refinish my current '48 RRA with boxlining and the prewar transfers and I was hoping for a scrap of evidence to justify this approach (I will probably do it anyway!). In addition, if anyone has seen an original lined example, I would be curious to know if single boxlining was used, double boxlining, or perhaps the unique style of "twin line" boxlining used on Raleigh Roadsters of the period.

I know this is a rather obscure question so I am not holding my breath for replies on this one!

Thanks, Paul Raley Leonardtown MD
