Kurt Sperry wrote (and I have <snipped> to get to the relevant part)

"I miss the old caliper QR eccentrics too, but not the infamous MAFAC screeeeeech (however useful for warning pedestrians) or crudely adjusting toe-in with an adjustable wrench by bending the caliper arms." <snip> +++++++++++++ It probably needs to be said again every year or two: Do NOT try to bend Universal 61 or 68 caliper arms to get the toe in you want. They break. Not occasionally. Always, in my experience. That's the usual source for the "Wanted: one Universal XX brake" notes, I do believe.

Of course, your mileage may vary.
