Dear CR members

I note that Mick Butler's list of bike builders does not extend to H E 'Doc' Green of Dawes Road Fulham and there is nothing about him on CRs British list. According to Len Ingam the VCC Hetchin's man, he built about 650 frames from 1953 through to 1965. He also built for Algurn, Garret Lane Wandsworth. I own two superb models by him. One is a road /track 'Italia' model from 58 (i bought in 1980) and a 1954 model with handcut spearpoint lugs. They both have shallow head angles 72 degs with a 1 3/4" fork rake and steeper seat angles of 74 and 73 respectively. Both are wonderful to ride. As some who went to school next to Ephgrave's Averly Works I guess I should be eulogising about him. However, as much I love my Ephgrave, Doc Green is the master as far I'm concerned.

Best Wishes
