There use to be a really great bloke in the Southern Veteran Cycling Club think his name was Barry Peerless. He was the editor for their News and Views magazine for a period. He restored and raced Frazer-Nash chain gang sports-cars. Was also well connected in some way to the 1950/60's British motor racing scene, Ferrari's and Maseratti's. One of his motoring passions was old Citroen's. He spoke very good French and was always hoping over the channel to buy French car bits etc. On one of his forays in the Paris Flea Market he found a load of NOS Mercier aluminium bicycle frames circa late 40's early 50's. Gents and ladies. Racers and tourers which he flogged at the old Boot and Back at Dane End. He had a wonderful bicycle collection the stars being a Royal Coventry Salvo and a fabulous racing ordinary. Would let anyone ride them including this fellow who lived around the corner to him. This so called mate ran off with his wife but that's another story. Anyway he must have had ten of these frames I wonder what ever happened to them as they were cheap at about £25 in around 1973 time. He was going back over to France to get a load more.

Thats all for now. Keep those wheels spinning, in your memories if not still on the road. Be lucky Mick Butler Huntingdon UK.
