I did check out the German E-bay as was suggested by our list member in Heidelberg. It seems that Syncropaul is not so much trying to fool prospective buyers, but in fact is trying to fool E-bay selling fees calculations. For example the buy it now price for the SR titanium pedal box is 10 euro, which Syncropaul will be charged an E-bay fee of .50 cent. If he had listed the pedals along with the box for 250 euro the fee would be like 12.50 euro. Now you pay Syncropaul 260 euro for pedal and box, but e-bay only really knows about the selling price of 10 euro for the box.

All this is very complicated and seems irrational, but the ad does clearly state that the auction is only for the box, but if by some odd chance the buyer would also like some pedals to go with his box, he will have to pay. In any event, it is quite a lovely classic Campy box and if you thread these on to your crank, you will have an unbeatably light however not terribly durable combination.
