Subject: [CR]freewheel spacers

Good afternoon

Looking for some freewheel spacers so that the freewheel does not 'bottom out' when screwed on a Harden hub. This hub does not have a 'shoulder' for the freewheel to rest against. Need about 8 mm or so of depth.

Have looked at a number of web sites and have yet to find something suitable. Also several of my local bike shops.

All I have found so far are aluminum spacers which (to my eye) do not look strong enough. They are a good fit, a bit under 35 mm inside diameter but are only about 1.5 mm think. Have a pair of them, each provides 4 mm of spacing.

I have borrowed some that are steel and circa 3.5 mm thick that would work find but I need to return them. I think they are Sturmey Archer parts.

Question 1. Will the aluminum ones work or will they deform too much?

question 2. If not, does anyone have a source of suitable spacers that would work for this application?

thank in advance!
