Serrottas are nice if you can afford them. Personally I'd buy a Landshark from John Slawta or a frame from Peter Weigle before I even thought about a Serrotta.

Hello Everybody,

Nice long article about Serotta and the trendy road bike in today's USA TODAY. Kerry rides one! Robin Williams rides one! And Thank God, Jessica Seinfeld (Jerry's wife) rides one too!

Of interest to the group might be David Herlihy's quote at the bottom of the article, after all mention of the Ottrott, 5900 Superlight, Madone, etc. Here's the quote:

" My favorite remains my 1983 De Rosa...I'm frozen in time. Like Rip Van Winkle. Clearly, some of the fancy materials make a difference, but my De Rosa is still very fun to ride."

And he even managed to squeeze into the timeline!

Tell me, is David (author of BICYCLE: A HISTORY) on this list? Pardon my ignorance if he is. (Actually, pardon it anyway.)

Ricky Garni Carrboro, NC

Also a little plug for Carrboro's Cycling Specifics in the article, where they fit you, it looks like, over the course of a month or two.

Yes, I do read USA TODAY. It is the intellectual in me, the one that likes pretty colors.
