You're probably right–I guess I am thinking quite literally of "keepers of the flame", i.e., people who produce or promote the work that the members of this list are so passionate about ...

(I guess that makes us ALL keepers of the flame? Memo to all: if you let me even change your tires for you you do so at your own peril! If I so much as hold a wrench in my hand (let's not talk torches) I would be the keeper of the flamed! (And just "the flamed" if we do mention torches)
