I have decided to sell my Masi Track Bike. This is a California Masi, marked MC 57, and also marked B7802. Apparently made sometime about '78, about when they moved from Carlbad to San Marcos, and just after the change to IC lugs (although I can’t really visually discern the differences between the earlier pressed lugs and the IC lugs).

It's marked as a 57, but measures smaller. My tape shows it as a 55.5 cm seat tube (c-c) with the same length top tube. Overall it's in nice shape, and I would just keep it as it - but just too small for me. No rust problems and the chrome on the fork is in excellent condition. I can probably take it to Wayne Bingham's upcoming Virginia "tea party," so you should be able to arrange an independent evaluation from one of the list members there. Could probably also take to T-town Saturday upon request, since I would prefer not to have to ship the bike.

I bought this off ebay late last summer. Cleaned it up a bit (I think it had been unused for at least 10 years), replaced the SR Laprade seat post with a Campy 2-bole post, and put a Campy 44t gold BMX chainring on for a test ride. It had a Sugino road width ring on it.

The 2-bolt Campy post I bought for it off e-bay has small MASI letters stamped front & back in a pattern:

MASI A S S A ISAM

I don’t know if this was something the owner of this particular post did… Post was polished.

It's now all Campy, except for the early DurAce head set, and a DurAce BB. I have a used Campy track BB for it, but haven’t yet installed that. It has Campy High Flange 36 spoke track hubs built up to Ambrosia rims. Sew-ups of course, which must be replaced. (I used a different wheelset for my short test ride). Cranks are the likely original Campy Pista, 165mm arms, 144mm BCD. I used SPD pedals for my test ride, which are in the pictures, but the original Campy pedals, clips, & straps go with the bike.

Stem is TTT, and I believe the chrome steel bars are also.

I'm asking $1200, and can probably have the bike delivered to the Cirque.
