Subject: [CR]Cirque du Cyclisme Charity Auction

Well folks, The time is fast approaching for this years secret charity AUCTION!!! Yes, SECRET; Only open to those who read this list. Our 3rd Annual Charity Auction will take place inside of Cycles De Oro Bicycle Shop Saturday night April 3rd, 2005 immediately following the Cirque Banquet at The Painted Plate. Figure the auction will start at about 10:30p.m. and go till there just ain't nuth'n left to sell! It will be obligatory to make noise and have fun! This year will see door prizes, a 50/50 cash raffle, a CONFENTE bicycle (Nick Z.) up for grabs, a Cinelli track frame (Roy D.) for sale, a pair of Assos rimmed wheels (full donation; Peter G.), many classic Cycling books (full donation; Ted E.) going to the highest bidder and TONS of other GREAT stuff to be had on the cheep!

So PLEASE bring all your old unwanted junk and I will auction it off with the help of John Baron and Harvey Sachs. If you can't get to Greensboro, then feel free to send your donated greasy old parts to Dale's shop. Mark the box "Charity Auction Donation" and we will auction the parts off. Logistics make it too difficult to do this and send back $, so this service will be provided to "full donation" situations only. I thank you in advance.

Last year's charity benefit auction was able to raise $1,856.00 for the"Make a Wish Foundation". This years charity auction's proceeds will go to a very wonderful organization: Operation Smile. PLEASE look them up at http://www.operationsmile.org , you will be impressed! Since 1982, Operation Smile's volunteers have provided free facial reconstructive surgery to tens of thousands of children and young adults in 25 developing countries and the United States. 90,000 children have been treated by thousands of volunteers and more than 10,000 health care professionals have been trained. 87% of cash and in-kind donations go directly to programs helping children. I really like this one, I hope you do also.

ALL I ask is that you donate at least a small percentage of the proceeds of your auctioned bits (10 to 20% suggested of the sellers end) to charity. Last year many of our sellers made a FULL donation. The Make a Wish Foundation thanks you all again for the $1,856.00 donation. I thank you all for the pleasure of making this auction happen.

So please bring your cash, bring your old bits. You've got some time left to dig through those boxes. So get go'n!
   Thanks,
