Subject: [CR]Bikes for Cirque Auction: Rossin, Moser, Falcon, Bridgestone, Zeus

Just last night I got permission to bring and sell at auction 6 vintage bikes on behalf of a non-profit to which they were donated.* All measurements are approximate, seat tube ctt by head tube ctc, measured in near dark:

Moser, 58 by 58, white with fades, Gipiemme cranks, Modolo brakes Rossin, 55 by 54, royal blue Falcon, 63 by 60, bluish purplish, at least 3 tubes 531 Bridgestone/Kabuki "Diamond Formula" 59 by 56, lovely perlescent orangish. Zeus, 56 by 54, all Zeus (2000 brakes), at least 3 tubes 531, silver, typical Zeus decals, etc. no pedals. Merckx JUVENILE racer, seems to be 24" wheels, orange, rough.

If one or more of these is of really great interest but you won't be at cirque, please contact me to see how we can do a sealed bid, as for the Confente, etc. Meanwhile, I have not inspected, cleaned, or done anything else with these except load them in the van. No pix, these are a pig-in-a-poke. Any major defects will be declared at auction.

Of course, any amount paid that is more than the "value" of the bike is a deductible donation, as the owning organization is a qualified public charity. We will provide a receipt for the purchase, and prefer payment by personal check made out to them.

Starting Thursday afternoon, best way to reach me will be cell at 703-848-8136; I ain't doin' no stinkin' email while at Cirque...

John P, sorry to spring another nice surprise for your auction; should be a great event.
