I think the stampings were phased out by the early 80s; at least the Columbus tube sets we used at Trek came with graphite discharge markings instead of stampings -- except for the steer tube, which continued to have the lovely "dove" stamping.

Reynolds stamped their tubes as well, with "REYNOLDS 531" on the long butt end of each tube. 753 wasn't stamped, but had a swatch of paint on the long butt end.
