Mr Deeter stated that the cost is 2.75 percent per year on the stated value of all his bikes. This would run into hundreds of dollars per year based on an optimistic value of what these bikes could bring on a good day on E-bay. Does that mean that if someone steals one of my bikes from somewhere other than my home, I get reimbursed minus a deductable? That's great if someone steals all of my bikes from my home, but if they snatch one that's leaning against a tree while I go to put on my shoes, do I have to pay a deductable of say $500 first and then find out that maybe it doesn't cover field losses, or Starbucks snatches or losses in transit from airlines? Would it even be worth the cost in these cases? I have lost a few bikes to theft, but never from my home, only when out and about.
