Greetings all:
Andrew of Yellow Jersey tells me I have an early model SRA produced in late 84 or 85. It is distinguished from other models by its lack of chrome, a plate behind the bottom bracket, aero fastback seat stays, aero forks, aero crown, and the use of Campy 1010B ends in place of the earlier Shimano ends. I am selling because while I do like the bike, there are bikes I would rather have more. I also have a Lejeune and a Guerciotti that are in sore need of refinishing. Then there is the Raysport frame I just scored......
The 3Rensho has a C-Record group on it with very nice Cobalto brakes and levers. Brake levers were replaced from the originals by me with cleaner levers and they have NOS Campy hoods. The stem is a Cinelli 1R of 9cm, the bars are NOS Cinelli Criterium 65-40. The Campy shift levers are mounted on top of the down tube and I am told this is rather rare as usually Shimano or Suntour levers were used. Seatpost is a C-Record aero and it mounts a NOS San Marco Regal Girardi. BTW, the smudges you see on the saddle in the pics wiped off. My bad for not cleaning the bike better. The cluster is a Shimano 600, 13-14-15-17-19-21. One tooth of the 19 cog is broken. There is a NOS Sachs/Sedis chain. The headset and bottom bracket were serviced for me by A-1 Cycles in St Louis (ca-ching!). Wheelset is Campy Record LF, double-butted spokes with Araya Aero anodized rims. There is brake wear on the rims. No tubulars mounted or included.
The bike was raced by the original owner, but has not been crashed. There are rashes on the pedals and a place on the rear derailleur where rash was removed and then polished. It can be seen in the pictures. As with any bike that has been ridden, it has scratches and some chips, but for a bike of this age that has been raced the frame is in remarkable condition. I have put about 50 miles on the bike with a different set of wheels and all I can say is "She flies" The bike tracks straight, shifts smartly, and the brakes worked very well.
Pictures can be seen at the following location:
If you want more detall photos of the frame only, drop me a line and I will post them in the same location.
Asking price is $1000 and for that price, I will include shipping. If you feel I am smoking crack, let me know (nicely, please). :-) I can always learn. As for trades, I would be interested in the following:
Motobecane Team Champion/LeChampion Guerciotti SL frame bike pre 1985 Lejeune Champ du Monde or similar
All in 54 to 56cm. The 3Rensho is not perfect and I do not expect perfect in return.
Thanks
