I have a Pearl-Pink mid-80's De Rosa, that I had custom painted as a gift for my wife, probably back in about 1990. It was painted by a friend of mine, who was doing some small-scale refinishing in his garage in North Carolina at the time. However, the inspiration for the color came from a frame that this same friend had custom built when we shared a house together, back in the early 80's. The frame was an Alpine by Fred Kelly, and also was pearl-pink. I thought it was just about the coolest thing I had ever seen. It was just so different looking. It always got lots of comments, not all favorable, but I always thought it was pretty special and unique, and the primary reason I wanted pink for my wife's De Rosa.

And that Alpine was my size too. Sure would like to find that thing today! I'd ride it in a heart-beat (and I'd ride my wife's pink De Rosa too).
