These 1973 Raleigh prices are revealing. Maybe I look at this the wrong way, but I was actually buying bikes back then as a 15-year-old with newspaper route money so $325 for a RRA ($1435.00 in today's money) was serious cash for a bike. Very serious. And how or why a Competition Ma rk III was only $245 ($1081.00 today) is a headscratcher to me. No wonder the RRA was a one-year wonder.

And when compares Raleigh prices to say a Cinelli SC ($550 or so in '73 or

$2428.00) or a Peugeot PX-10 (approx $270 or $1192.00 today), one must

reach the same conclusion I did that year (or the next actually): BUY A PEUGEOT!!

If anyone can convince me (and I love Raleighs) that a Raleigh Pro was worth $460 ($2031.00) or $190 or $800 in today's money more than PX-10, I'll be astonished.

Did the lines for PX-10s form to the right or left? Save me a place, 'caus e they were beating the competition right, left and centre in value for mone y.
