Last year I found a grey pair that work nicely on my 83 Trek 760: http://www-hsc.usc.edu/~rpinder/trek760.html

They were new (or newish, cant recall) via Ebay. I'd buy more if they popped up (though i'll likely have more bidding buddies now). Like the feel of the rubber they use [though cant explain why]. Mine say A'ME (not L'AME) on them. I discovered the BMX connection as well, but assume the later incarnation probably came after a buyout ? You can find decals with their logo on Ebay from time to time.
