I for one do not feel that ebay is the evil empire. However some sellers get carried away with their descriptions. Most of us have a tendency toward overevaluating things we possess. This can lead to inaccurate descriptions. Many folks here are very well versed on the quality features and characteristics present in high end bicycles. Many sellers are not and this often times leads to over-exaggerated listings. A gentle correction may be the best way to handle such a situation. The seller's response may be a good indication of his integrity.
I also feel omitting the fact that the seat tube was replaced was a greivous error by this seller. What disturbs me is that people jump to the conclusion that the response from Serotta is bogus. I don't understand that logic.
I have asked the seller for the serial number and will pass along that info once it is provided.
