This is just a pitch to all you Southern California members to come to the Rose Bowl vintage ride this Sunday.
This is always a very pleasant ride. Chuck's route first- class, with only one modest climb, after which we stop for lunch at a good independent coffee shop in the picturesque Sierra Madre downtown, and solve the problems of the world and gossip about bike stuff..
It's really a lot of fun..and I am reliably informed that we may have no fewer than three tandem pairs there this Sunday... including a recumbent tandem (nudge, nudge Dave...); that oughta be something to see. You can also get a gander at a beautiful Paramount tandem that John Morrison and Stacy should be on...
So c'mon you guys! I know there are many more members of the CR list in Southern California who never come to this ride, and it's a very Fine Thing, so I hope you can come.
Just to recap, the ride starts at 11am sharp (but show up early for the usual kibbitzing) in the parking lot of the Aquatic Center at the south end of the Rose Bowl complex in Pasadena. We're generally back before 2pm. The pace is always moderate, and this is a no-drop ride, so nothing but fun, we're usually back before 2pm, depending on how many problems we have to solve at lunch..<g>...
