Dale,
That's correct. The last tool case I bought was in 1982; the wholesale price at that time was $1250. No one should pay a "retail" price for a tool kit, anyway.
Also, you can still get one for about $2200 or so new. The value of such a kit is probably $1000 to $1200 depending on condition, unless you can see it in person and hold the tools in your hand. If the seller says it originally cost $3600 then the condition may also be exaggerated. Using the sellers standards, my crank is 400mm long!

I do not believe that is true!!! If I recall correctly, we bought cycles de ORO's first full kit in 1976 for $850.00 That was a discounted price but I think max was $1200.00

I am selling this for a friend. I have a Vintage Campagnolo tool set...the complete set. This is set that includes EVERY tool you would ever need to work on your campy components. It comes in a campagnolo custom fit case, that is wood. It is roughly 24"x 12"x4". This set was $3600 new in the 1970's. I am looking for best offers, no low ballers please. (offers should be in the $0000.00 price range, keep in mind that you can not get these anymore.) The set is great condition.
