That pretty much covers my experience too, even with off topic freewheels and frame spacing. I weigh around the 210 lb mark, ride fairly light and try to watch where I'm going, so I don't normally damage wheels or axles, but I do pedal hard in stiff gears and your target frame component list looks pretty much like my "things I break" list. I seem to break about one frame a year in and around the bottom bracket region. There are a whole lot of desirable, affordable, vintage bikes out there that will physically fit me that I won't buy, because I cannot ride them as intended with a clear conscience.
